The first two games in the Pikmin series come to Nintendo Switch and both run really well and are great to play. Both games control well and have been visually improved with smoother graphics. Both games are filled with a compelling combat system and interesting environments.

Pikmin 1: In the game, Captain Olimar crash lands on an unknown planet and discovers that he need to fix his ship before he runs out of air in 30 days. He discovers little creatures, he names "Pikmin," which he now uses to find the missing pieces, of his ship and take out enemies. There are three Pikmin types with their own unique abilities: red Pikmin are immune to fire, yellow Pikmin can be thrown higher and are immune to electricity, and blue Pikmin can swim. Each Pikmin can be used to navigate through each area and find ship parts. The 30 day limit add a bit of pressure, and you will need to be able to plan out each day precisely. Pikmin is a good game to play but it's time limit can make you feel like you need to be quick. 7.5/10

Pikmin 2: This game has been thought of as the best game in the series and for good reasons , as it removes the 30 day time limit and focusing more on collecting treasure. In the game, Olimar returns from space only to find that his company, Hocotate Shipping, is in debt and you now have to pay it off by going back to the planet from the previous game, with a new recruit, Louie. You will go to different locations on the planet and find interesting treasure and use Pikmin to your advantage. Each day, you'll be able to plan out what to find and what each captain will do with their own Pikmin. You can also play with another person, to help you or compete with you in battle mode. There are two new Pikmin types that will help you. There are now purple Pikmin, which are stronger than other types of Pikmin, and white Pikmin, who are immune to poison and can damage enemies when they are eaten. You will also explore caves to find treasure and you will also get more Pikmin to help you. Pikmin 2 is a great improvement from the first game and while the caves get harder in the game, they act as moments of trail and error to make you start over and strategize. 8/10
In Conclusion: The first two games in the Pikmin series are great games for any Nintendo gamer, anyone who likes Pikmin, or is interested in trying out the Pikmin series.
8/10: Great
